About Us
Best Content Pty Limited (formerly deGroots Media) was established by Maureen De Groot in 1966 and is one of Australia’s oldest hospitality marketing and gift card companies.
The company has remained at the forefront of change in hospitality marketing since its inception, having started as a premium travel operator in 1966 before managing the Top 10 hotel magazine in the 1990’s before setting up the first restaurant websites in the early 2000s.
In 2004 it became one the first dinning certificates in the Australian market and remains one of the market leaders in multi vendor gift distribution programmes.
In 2013 Best Content launched its Best Spas programme followed by Best Pets in 2020.
In 2021 Best Content launched its new Best Restaurants site with over 8,000 restaurant listings across Australia with direct booking through major booking engines.
In 2022 deGroots Media was acquired by Best Gift Group to further expand its growing hospitality focus in New Zealand and Singapore.
In April 2023 Best Gift Group Pty Limited will launch its Best Wineries programme.
Our evolution since 1966
We started as Piccadilly Travel one of Sydney's leading outbound tourism operators.
Magazine Top 10. The group acquired magazine publisher in 1996 catering to the hotel tourism market in Sydney and Melbourne
In 2000 we launched the first restaurant site to promote restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne
Best Restaurant Gift certificate was launched 2004 to bring a new dinning gift experience to Sydney
Best Gift cards was launched in 2010 starting with its Best Restaurants card
In 2019 the Group launched its first digital card to reduce its plastic waste.
Best Gift Group acquires de Groots Media and launches Best Restaurants New Zealand
Best Wineries is planned to launch in March 2023 in Australia and New Zealand

We provide on going vendor training on card redemption through our on-line redemption app and through our state based vendor managers. Our Australian based customer support centres are there to ensure both our vendors and card holders have the support you need.
